The San Francisco 49ers are back in the NFC Championship Game.

In all honesty, that’s not much of a surprise, and anything worse than that could’ve been considered a massive failure.

The Niners have the most talented team in the league by a significant margin, and they entered the season in Super Bowl-or-bust mode.

Nonetheless, despite that, some people still have serious doubts and questions about QB Brock Purdy.

He’s often been pointed out as the weakest link and the only thing that could stand between them and a Super Bowl ring.

That’s why former NFL star Jason McCourty wanted to give him his flowers and talk about how Purdy does the most important thing any quarterback can do, which is win football games.

“You can say what you want about his arm strength, his athletic ability, anything of the above… When the guy’s out there they win football games and you cannot take that away from him at all,” McCourty said.

Talking on Good Morning Football, he stated that he’s made it to back-to-back NFC Championship Games and no one can take that away from him.

Purdy might not be the most impressive physical specimen or the most talented quarterback in the league by any means but it’s about time people give him some credit.

He’s continued to find ways to win games, and he shouldn’t be blamed or criticized for having elite teammates.

Purdy orchestrated a game-winning drive vs. the Green Bay Packers to get the team to this point, and it feels like people continue to hold it against him that he was the last pick in the NFL Draft.

Perhaps the narrative around him would be completely different if had been a first-round pick.
